AD ASTRA 2017: DIMENSIONS aims to unravel the hidden surfaces of a multi-faceted Benildean through a play of reflections and colors to reveal their bona fide personas. This edition shows off an individual’s edge and brings out the graduate’s best angles.

SUBSCRIPTION PROCESS

REGISTER
Register at dimensions.theadastra.org and provide the information being requested. Make sure to input the proper and updated information when you submit/save your entry. Double check your entries as these details will be deemed final and will be used for the actual yearbook. Print the payment slip provided by the website and give it to the Benildean Yearbook Office. Then proceed to the Accounting Office to pay for the yearbook subscription fee.

GET YOUR OFFICIAL RECEIPT
The Accounting Office will provide you with two copies of the official receipt. Keep the white copy. Submit the yellow copy of your receipt to the Benildean Yearbook Office located at 2F MFC Building, Benilde Taft Campus. Your online account will be ready for activation within 24 hours.

ACTIVATE YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT
After submitting the copy of your receipt to the Benildean Yearbook Office, your online account will be ready for activation after 24 hours. Go to dimensions.theadastra.org and click “Activate Account.” Provide your ID Number, OR Number and set your account password to activate your account. The OR Number is a six-digit number located above the date on your receipt.

LOGIN AND FILL OUT YOUR YEARBOOK PROFILE
Strive for an honest and creative write-up that will answer the prescribed yearbook question: “What dimension of your identity best portrays you?” (“Dimension” Dimension means e.g talent, skills, interest, values or character) Write-ups must follow the recommended length indicated by the website and must be in pure English or Filipino. Vulgar or foul language is discouraged.

SCHEDULE YOUR PICTORIAL.
Once your submitted write-up is approved, you may schedule your pictorial slot. You will be required to print a schedule slip which you will need to sign and submit on the day of your pictorial schedule. NO SCHEDULE SLIP MEANS NO PICTORIAL.

YEARBOOK PACKAGE

The yearbook package, which costs Php 3,500 shall include the following:

  • One (1) copy of the AD ASTRA yearbook (hardbound)
  • One (1) CD-ROM containing the unedited soft copies of all formal and creative shots
  • One (1) 8 x 10 printed graduation photo with glass frame
  • Four (4) pieces printed wallet size creative shots (full body)
  • Eight (8) pieces printed wallet size toga shots

* Hair and make-up services will be provided
To avoid unnecessary delays in our production, we will not accommodate requests for a refund.

WRITE UP GUIDELINES

SUBSCRIBER ʼS ACCOUNT MUST BE ACTIVATED.

Log-in to dimensions.theadastra.org and fill out your Yearbook Profile. Double-check and make sure to submit/save your entry. The Benildean Yearbook Office will verify the submitted info before you can schedule your pictorial.

COMPOSING YOUR WRITE UP.
Strive for a write-up that is honest and creative that would show your unique personality and it must answer the prescribed yearbook question: “What dimension of your identity best portrays you?” Write-ups must follow the recommended length indicated by the website and must be in pure English or Filipino. You will be notified through email to login to your account to schedule your pictorial after your Yearbook Profile is approved.

PICTORIAL GUIDELINES

COME ON TIME.
Those who do not show up on their confirmed pictorial slot will have to pay a penalty of Php 450 before they can be given a new pictorial schedule. Please be in the pictorial venue thirty minutes ahead of your schedule to give ample time for the stylist to fix your hair and do your make-up.

WEAR PROPER ATTIRE.

  • Formal/Toga Shot (Half Body shot):
    Men - light colored long sleeves with dark colored tie
    Women - blouse with V or wide neckline

  • Casual Shot (3/4 Body shot):
    Students may wear their desired casual wear as long as it abides by the College’s Dress Code Policy. Clothes in muted or desaturated colors are highly encouraged. Please do not wear bright or neon colors.

  • Creative/ Mirror Shot (Half Body shot):
    Students are REQUIRED to wear a PLAIN GREY top that abides by the College's Dress Code Policy.

PRACTICE YOUR POSES.
Practice your smiles, angles, and poses beforehand and make sure that your face is seen in the photos. Talk to the photographer if you have concerns during your pictorial.

KEEP IT CLEAN.
Photos that are indecent, insulting and malicious will not be accepted. These include photos that portray nudity, display of cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, drug paraphernalia, destructive weapons, and sexual objects or symbols.

BE CREATIVE.
It is encouraged that you come to the pictorial without make-up. The yearbook package includes basic hair and make-up with minor retouch. Give clear instructions for your preferred hair and make-up while you are being prepared for your shoot. An additional of PHP 250 is required if you wish to have a “creative make-up” for your Creative Shot and Casual Shot.

CHOOSE WISELY.
Don’t rush while choosing your photos; take time and decide well. Your selected photos for printing are considered final so please choose wisely.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

“How much is the yearbook?”
The yearbook package costs Php 3,500.

"Who may subscribe to the yearbook?"
The yearbook is open to subscription for all students expecting to graduate during the next school year following the subscription period.

"When is the subscription period?"
Subscription is offered annually during the Third Term of the school year. It usually lasts for three to four weeks.

"Can I avail of the graduation photos only without the hardbound yearbook, or vice versa?"
Unfortunately, no. We offer all of our products and services as a package.

“When do I get my graduation photos?”
The printed photographs can only be claimed within sixty (60) days from their announced date of availability. Only the student who availed of the package or his/her duly authorized representative can claim said photo. The representative must present a signed letter of authorization before he/she can claim the photos in behalf of the student. Photographs which remain unclaimed after the 60-day period shall be immediately disposed of by the BYO in a suitable manner.

"Can someone else subscribe on my behalf?"
Yes, you may register online and have someone pay for your subscription to the yearbook.

"What if I missed the subscription period of my batch?"
If you missed the subscription period, you will no longer be included in your batch yearbook. Instead, you may be included in the succeeding batch’s yearbook, should you wish to still subscribe.

"When is the pictorial?"
Schedules are announced through the website. Pictorial schedules may vary as there may be changes in the yearbook production schedule this year, owing to the changes in Benilde’s academic calendar.

“Will I be able to get the photos on the day itself?”
The photo prints will be available for claiming 60 working days after the batch of pictorials have been finished. You may, however, get the unedited photos of all your shots in a CD for a fee of Php 300.

“Can I request for special arrangements such as extra prints?”
Yes, you may. Please coordinate with the studio personnel after you had scheduled you pictorial. A list of studio services is provided on the pictorial day and on the website.

“Can I request for a special schedule for pictorial?”
Kindly contact us via facebook and state why you are requesting for a special schedule.

"Is refunding of the subscription fee allowed?"
To avoid unnecessary delays in our production, we will not accommodate requests for refund.

About the Benildean Yearbook Office


The Benildean Yearbook Office is the sole student organization tasked to produce the College’s official yearbook. It caters to the special interests of students in publication-related activities like writing and editing, layout and graphic design, photography and videography, marketing and publicity and customer service.

First released in 2000, the annual publication captures in text and images the memories, hopes and dreams of each year’s graduating batch of students. It showcases the graduates’ profiles and photos; features coverage and momentous events and various curricular and extra curricular activities; and includes messages from administrators, mentors and friends. “Ad Astra,” which literally means “to the stars,” embodies the aspirations of Benildean graduates as they blaze to new heights in their pursuit of excellence in their chosen field.

Subscription to the Ad Astra is voluntary and inclusion therein is not proof of graduation from the College.
