Who is Ad Astra?

Ad Astra is De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's official student organization tasked to produce the College yearbook. At its core, the organization captures authentic stories and moments that last beyond a college journey. Ad Astra also strengthens the College's identity by producing content about Benildeans, for Benildeans.

What do we do?

Our annual publications include:

EMBARK: Benilde's Frosh Publications; and AD ASTRA, Benilde's official yearbook.

We also release content on our official channels called: BEYOND, our online content for our offficial Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and Tiktok pages.

Ad Astra's application process is made up of four easy steps.
Make sure to read and follow these steps carefully.

Application

Fill out the application form. If you apply for two sections, some parts of the exam will be different according to the sections you applied to.

Details of the examination process, including time slot, will be sent to your Benilde mail upon approval of your application.

Interview

After the first two steps, you will be contacted by Ad Astra for the schedule of your online interview. Make sure to reply to confirm your slot.

Results

All applicants must pass the previous steps to qualify. We will announce the accepted applicants on our social media accounts and through email.

Graphic Designers

Layouts and edits content for both online and print publications.

Illustrator

Illustrates visual content for both online and print publications.

Motion and Graphic Artists

Creates motion graphic projects for Ad Astra's online content.

Qualifications for Graphic Designers, Illustrators, and Motion Graphic Artists

  • Excellence in the fundamentals of design and color theory.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Versatility in art style and innovation in content creation.

Conceptualizes and writes copies for Ad Astra's online publication.

News and Events Correspondents

Covers news and events in and outside Benilde, both local and national.

Feature Writers

Writes literary and creative content featuring Benildean identities and events.

Qualifications for News and Events Correspondents and Feature Writers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Can work well both independently and in a collaborative working environment.
  • Proficient in the technicalities of writing and content creation.

Customer Support

Are you well-versed in addressing concerns and solving problems? As the organization's frontline in catering to subscriber matters, the Customer Support section needs people who can effectively utilize their interpersonal skills in crafting innovative solutions.

Internal Staff

Manages inventories and files related to Ad Astra's yearbook subscribers.

External Staff

Helps the subscribers with their concerns and inquiries through email and in-person settings while maintaining a courteous and positive disposition.

Qualifications for Internal and External Staff

  • Organized, detail-oriented, patient, and can work under minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in both Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Do you have skills in handling logistics and managing workloads? The Managing section deals with all kinds of organizational concerns, where proficiency in interpersonal interactions is needed. In the Managing section, we make Ad Astra an efficient workplace.
